BRONZE DOORS
Church doors are the gateway to places of worship and - for this reason - bronze doors must satisfy very demanding requirements in terms of technical and artistic quality. Artists have to be selected very carefully since the project not only has to meet customary standards of technical and artistic quality but also be approved by the Diocesan Commission for the Holy Arts. When such doors are designed for international markets, the safety standards and regulations of applicable in those countries must also be taken into consideration.
For example, in the United States of America doors must open outwards and be fitted with large anti-panic handles; they must also often ensure fire resistance of up to two hours.
